A political friend of mine emailed me about this one, under the assumption that I and my peers (read: my fellow geeks) might find this of interest.
Call of Lovecraft is a walking tour of Providence, Rhode Island, accessible through your mobile device. Enjoy exploring the world of H.P. Lovecraft, but remember – all is not what is seems. Beware the Old Ones that lurk in the shadows of this ancient city. Can you avoid awakening Cthulhu as you progress?
The Call of Lovecraft uses augmented reality which is a way of adding to the reality around you. Look through your phone’s camera in the right spots and a whole new view of your surroundings will open up before you.
…and, in point of fact: I do find this of interest. I wish that I had this when I was in Providence for Blogcon. You’ll need to have the Aurasma app installed, apparently, not to mention be in Providence, but both the app and the walking tour is free and I have this on my iPod for the next time I’m visiting the city. Which God only knows when that’s going to be, but what the heck.
