Please do not make a third Bill & Ted movie, Hollywood.

There’s no reason for one, and everyone involved is now old.

“But it’s a Bill & Ted movie, that’s what it is. It’s for the fans of Bill & Ted. It fits very neatly in the [series]. It’s not going to feel like a reboot. The conceit is really funny: What if you’re middle-aged, haven’t really grown up and you’re supposed to have saved the world and maybe, just maybe, you kinda haven’t?”

“There’s many versions of ourselves in this movie,” he continues. “[It’s] answering the question: ‘What happened to these guys?’ They’re supposed to have done all this stuff, they weren’t the brightest bulbs on the tree, what happened 20 years later? To answer that question in a comedic way felt rich with possibility.”

Speaking as one of the aforementioned fans of Bill & Ted… don’t make the goram movie. I don’t want to see it, I don’t want to know it exists, and I don’t want to revisit it.  Let it be.

As somebody once noted: Like sand in the hourglass, so are the days of our lives. Words to live by, in my opinion.

Or in the case of George Carlin, dead.

A comedy about a couple middle-aged dim wits? Hm, where have I heard that before?

Exactly. They’re already making a Dumb & Dumber sequel

    1. True it wasn’t time travel, but I loved it anyway. Bill & Ted go to hell was a solid premise and the eastern European grim reaper was comedy gold. At least it was to my high school self.

I saw it ONCE, in college, 20+ years ago.

  2. They tempted fate once with Bogus Journey (which also had no reason to exist) and got lucky. I doubt they’ll be lucky again. So many ways for this to go wrong and no obvious ways it could go right. But, as always, I’m willing to be wrong. Bad sequels don’t make the earlier films bad, and it’s their money to waste, so I’m keeping an even keel on this one. If it sucks, eh. What were we expecting?

At one time there were rumors of a proposed sequel — maybe even two of them — to The Matrix. Thank God that never happened.
