It’s the only explanation for this:

…I had a more measured response planned, but Charles Cooke wrote it for me, and I’m not going to give Peter Baker the satisfaction of knowing that he made me swear at him. But, yeah: this is the sort of nonsense that we have to deal with: people who work with monsters… and then assume that the rest of us are just the same kinds of monsters, just with a different colored tie.
It’s really kind of horrible, when you think about it.
I’m beginning to think it’s an inoculation; warning the public away from questioning Obama’s competence (in hiring her) by pointing out exactly what they would do if the situation was reversed and telling the public to assume the Republicans are the same. We’re basically being told to ignore anything the Republicans say because “politics”.
Kind of makes you wonder what a thorough mental health evaluation of the people who work at the NYT would find, doesn’t it?
