After doing some basic research, I actually think that the filmmaker David Hayter has a better case of being ripped off by Nancy Collins.

An unfinished private screening of Wolves was held on June 2013, in Los Angeles. Wild Blood was published December 2013, more than enough time to write a ripoff.

I am not saying that anyone is ripping off anyone, because I have not read the book or seen the movie. Just noting the timeline here.
Oh, no, Wild Blood was written at least a decade ago: I read it before I moved to Maryland. The latest version has been apparently extensively revised, but I haven’t read that one yet.
