My Watchdog.com piece on Virginia school choice advances is up.

Title: “Virginia Democrats value teacher’s unions over special needs kids by opposing school choice.” It’s all about the money, of course. It usually is, with that crowd.

  1. I have always supported vouchers, but I can’t support my state’s initiative on vouchers. Once you have the vouchers the private school (as would be expected) is forced to adopt all the standardized testing that the state does. My state does a lot so basically the private schools would have to adopt common core and whatever comes after that. So in a sense it erodes the choice. Yes people will have access to better quality staff, facilities, but I like the idea of not forcing the same thing on everyone so you can see the value of different policies.
