Quote of the Day, I’m Mostly Joking About The Demonology Part, Of Course edition.

To over-use the cliche: it would take a heart of stone not to laugh at this.  Frank Bruni, on a (male) Democrat infuriated that he has to vote for Hillary Clinton:

So here he stands, or rather squirms, exhilarated by what Hillary embodies and repelled by what she represents, wanting to see her take the oath and wanting never to lay eyes on her and Bill again, determined that they reclaim the White House and despairing of the muddy road there and the certain muck beyond. He’s a riot of warring emotions, a paradox with a pulse.

See, here’s the thing: what Democrats want is irrelevant.  They’ve been assigned their opinions and told how to vote them accordingly. This is the end of the matter: when you sign your name in the Black Book, the Devil does not care if you want your soul back later.  The Devil, in fact, assumes that you will.  That’s why he had you sign your name in the Black Book.

Really, more people should read up on their own culture’s folklore. We might avoid little problems like this if they did.  Or am I being optimistic? …I’m probably being optimistic.

  1. You are, indeed, being optimistic … else the beast would’ve been out of business years ago ‘stead of slouching down Rodeo drive…

  2. Better yet:
“And it’s different from politics as usual. It’s politics as a peculiar form of psychological torture, because the Clintons have a way — it’s their trademark — of being the best, most exciting vessel for people’s hopes even as they make those people feel icky about their investment in the couple.”
It is all about the Democrats/Frank Bruni/everyone else’s hopes. It is not about the reality of the person. The candidate is like Obama, a ‘screen they project their wants and desires upon. I cannot begin to describe the psychological mess these Hillary! supporters are in so to keep it short I’ll just reference the first thing that came to mind – ‘The Glass Menagerie’ by Tennessee Williams. The supporters are all Laura, and God help us all, they can vote.

  3. Japanese used to sign and seal with a fingerprint in blood.

I hope the Dems choke on Her Maj.
