My RedState piece on Jeb advisor Mike Murphy is up.

Found here.  Short version: Jeb Bush advisor Mike Murphy isn’t as smart as he thinks he is, and he needs to learn when to shut up.  Like the rest of DC, frankly.

  1. A microphone should always be assumed to be on, just like a firearm should always be assumed to be loaded..

Some people shouldn’t be allowed to get jobs outside the hotel or food service industry.

  2. That part about not talking about a strategy before you are to deploy it? Yeah, that is basic.

    (1) You are stupid and like preening before people. (Way too many generals throughout history.)
    *
    (2) You aren’t actually going to do this and want to get your opponents ready to fight a campaign you are not going to open. (Sun Tzu!)

Based on Murphy’s record I lean towards (1).

  3. having a really good time comparing the comments on Moe Lane at RedState with the comments on Moe Lane at Moe Lane.

    1. The comments here? Well buddy:

Please do not ban me – I mean well.

  4. Jeb! seems like a nice enough guy on a personal level, but he really, really needs to sit down, shut up and eat his broccoli.

    1. Jeb is a member of the genetic wing of the GOP ..
      .
He may seem like a nice enough guy, but deep down he knows it’s his party and we’re crashing.

  5. Seriously, in a Trump vs Jeb head to head, Jeb gets slaughtered… I highly doubt Trump would pick Jeb as a VP either. Pretty much every skirmish that Trump and Jeb have engaged in hasn’t turned out well for Jeb.

Right now I’m enjoying Trump and Cruz being #1 and #2 in the polls, I really like watching the establishment having a mental meltdown.

In all seriousness, I believe Trump would make a good President (I also believe Cruz would be a good President), he isn’t doing this for prestige or power. Seriously he might be the only candidate in our country’s history that would consider Air Force One to be slumming it.

There is an interesting piece about Trump on Rush Limbaugh’s site, and I believe Rush is right. Trump has demonstrated a mastery of manipulating the news media in a way that we haven’t seen since Ronald Reagan. They want to ignore him, but they can’t afford to do so because of the attention he attracts, the crowds he manages to draw out.
