Two days in: Tom Clancy’s The Division is very cool.

Completely absurd premise, of course.  But the plot is good so far, the action is reasonable, the city looks gorgeous in that post-apocalyptic sort of way, and I enjoy wandering around town and giving civilians energy bars to make them feel better.  …But I apparently can’t give them guns and ammo and armor and then go find rioters and Cleaners to shoot to death and take their territory over.  This seems like a sensible thing to do, right?  I mean, it’d be a lot easier to reclaim New York City if I’m not the only person punching the clock

Sorry. You gotta find something to gripe about in a game, or then people might think that you’re having fun.  I’m having fun. If you’re gonna get it, get it now while the PC version is still 20% for Amazon Prime members.

  1. I have been waiting to see a review from someone I trusted that was positive on this. I checked on Amazon, and it shows both the physical as well as the digital download at full price, even though I am a Prime member.

Thank you for the review though, I appreciate it.

    1. Let me amend this: The physical copy is 20% off (and it is displayed oddly for amazon.) The Digital download is full price, as far as I can tell.

      Sorry about that.

  2. If an odd looking vendor shows up on Friday and offers to sell you a rocket launcher, buy it.

  3. That is, indeed, one of my only gripes with the game. I mean, I’m glad we’re able to set up this wicked base across the street from Madison Square Garden where the injured and infected can come and get treatment… but apparently we’re contractually prohibited from passing out guns and ammo to the able-bodied to hold the zones I’ve already cleared. Grr.

Also, the difficulty jump from regular New York to the Dark Zone is completely insane.
