I’m gonna be honest: this is mostly for the dealers’ room and the chance to recalibrate myself a little. Plus, Awesome Con is close by. On the other hand, my wife’s already put in an order for snacky cakes from a nearby bakery on my way back, thus allowing me some extra guilt-free tomorrow. And on the gripping hand, maybe next year I can do Origins. Well, obviously I can do Origins. Heck, I could do a last-minute run this year. But I could definitely do it next year, and properly.

The wife and I had a good time there several years ago and have always meant to go back. We live farther away now, but still well within a long days drive.
If you make it to Origins, I’ll be coaching a symposium on what commanders and staffs do in the Army to wargamers. Watching the gamers try and learn to be staff officers while the enemy gets closer on the computer can be a lot of fun.
