I have to admit, this is a concept that will invariably get my attention:
In Hell Bent, a group of mercenaries imprisoned in a Brazilian jail are murdered and led into the depths of hell by a priest who wishes to use their skills to kill Satan before he brings hell to Earth.
Especially since it’d be interesting to see what happens when they succeed. I mean, I assume that they’re going to succeed. It’s an action flick, not a horror film. But… OK, they’re dead, and presumably they have guns, right? Unless they’re all martial arts dudes, which is not a problem, because kung fu against demons is totally fine and has been done before. But they’re dead, so they can’t be killed again, right? And what happens when Satan gets killed? They’re still dead, right? Do they own Hell now? And what about the priest? Isn’t all of this, like, an elaborate form of suicide?
…I don’t have answers for any of it. But if the director’s even thought about it – admittedly, sometimes a big ‘if’ – it’ll be a fun flick.
You Know when they start talking about franchise before the movie is even made that that’s a bad sign, right? It almost guarantees that the movie is going to be a black whole of suck.
