Apparently an official one and everything, too. Something to look forward to next year.

Ah. I thought you were going to mention Cthulhu Realms, a spinoff of the Star Realms card game that got released today.

I’d bet this one will be more Deep One focused based on the trailer. Though I think I’d prefer one like the Dunwich Horror for a video game (or like the movie Cast a Deadly Spell) for the simple fact the humans can sortof ‘win’. In Lovecraft’s standard cosmic horror trope, choice is inconsequential and meaningless…ultimately not having any agency is not the sort of crpg I’m interested in. It works with tabletop rpging for the simple fact you are entertaining your friends with gruesome and entertaining character arcs (ending with insanity and\or death).
.
As a side note I’m curious how much they paid Chaosium (if anything) for a licensing fee for the ‘Official’ designation. I don’t much care for how copyright laws have evolved (to accommodate Disney), but they can create some confusing, SAN roll provoking situations when trying to decipher who owns what when it comes to the Mythos and what is public domain.
