  1. Guess I’ll leave this here …
    .
Pan-dimensional lumber. (or cross-dimensional lumber, depending on campaign complexity)
    .
Every now and then, a truckload of lumber from the Eastern Pacific Lumber Company shows up at the local home center. (Lowes, Home Depot, Menards) .. It looks, feels, weighs, and functions pretty much like any other dimensional lumber .. 2x4s, 2x8s, the odd 2×12 ..
    .
All of the dimensions are 1/32″ larger than U.S. standard, which is close enough to tolerances that nobody’s complained. The wood, while it resembles douglas fir, is chemically and structurally different, and a good 20% stronger.
    .
The wood also extends into other dimensions .. so whatever you build with it creates .. or *can* create, under the right circumstances, say a pergola or torii gate and a carpenter with a cut on his palm .. a doorway.
    .
Just where the Eastern Pacific Lumber Company is located is a mystery .. the lumber arrives on trucks through the normal distribution channels, tracing leads back to a rail car of mostly standard design, for which there are no records.
    .
Perhaps .. someone is trying to send a message? Perhaps someone is seeking rescue? Perhaps someone is trying to create a bridgehead?
    .
Jerry and his cousins are trying to finish a pergola .. the party may want to make sure they don’t…. or that they do?
    .
    Mew
