That’s just my takeaway from this story about an unfortunate British prankster and the Intemperate Internet that is now yelling at him for it: there’s gotta be a way to get chocolate and Brussels sprouts to mix. There’s just gotta. And before you say anything: I have a way of steaming, then roasting them that leads to my wife scraping the dish to get the last bits up.
Of course, my wife also thinks that I can’t find a sweet recipe for chocolate and sprouts; I’ll end up finding one using cocoa as a savory dish. This will be… acceptable. but I’d still like a good, sweet recipe. Just to prove that it could be done.
Step 1: Make a chocolate-bourbon creme pie.
Step 2: Load the brussel sprouts into a catapult, and use mechanical advantage to place the vile things as far from you as possible.
Step 3: Eat the pie.
I’m thinking Bacon must be involved somehow….
Well, my normal way to cook Brussels Sprouts is to pan fry them to al denote in bacon grease. Not sure about chocolate tho, maybe a mole sauce?
Al dente. Stupid iPhone autocorrect.
Chocolate and bacon, in the right ratio, are pretty good .. but in the wrong ratio are awful.
.
Should be a matter of getting a solid chocolate-bacon recipe, then .. using the bacon grease to pan fry the sprouts (expect ~50% shrinkage) and then add chocolate.

Brussel Sprouts are on the list of “food I’ll eat, if my mom makes it, but I’ll have to choke it down.” That said, there seem to be a lot of recipes involving either a little honey or maple syrup. Maybe I’ll try one some day.
But for chocolate, this is the only one I found: https://food52.com/recipes/1277-marinated-brussels-sprouts-with-a-dark-chocolate-cayenne-sauce
Try it at your own risk.
I actually like Brussel Sprouts – steamed, with a little barbecue sauce. Have you tried breading them and deep frying? That seems to solve any problem in my book.
