In what universe is this sexy? …For the love of God, do not answer that. I’m appalled enough at the implied rutting in the rotini as it is.
For the love of pasta!

I find that much of ’70s pop culture can be explained with this one sentence: “They were doing a lot of drugs in the ’70s.” Repeat as necessary.
That’d started in the ’60s. The ’70s were when the new-hires in the ’60s found themselves in charge.
.
They knew the rules from the ’40s and ’50s were out the window, but *didn’t* know what the new rules were yet .. it was a very strange time.
.
Go rent “Dazed and Confused” .. then watch it as though it’s the *sequel* to 1971.

Mmm, well, I was 14 at the time, so 1971 was fairly staid, from my point of view…
So…is that the main course on the cover?
I was born in 1972. I almost pondered the significance of that as it relates to the above cover, but I decided not to.
As a partial explanation (not an excuse, there is no excuse for that…scene), many of us had a mental association: pasta = Sophia Loren
Don’t ask me about Disco, though. Got NO idea where that came from.
The cultural bender from the 60’s had just ended and the hangover hadn’t yet begun, but it would and it would last the whole decade.
and don’t forget the books covering the adventures of 0008 by Clyde Allison… “From Rapture With Love” and others…
