I chipped in on the Kickstarter for this, mostly because I knew old-school folks who raved about The Bard’s Tale series and I figured it was worth a look-see. And it does look interesting. Combo of hex turn-based combat with a more natural look for the world. I just have to remember that there’s no main character, apparently.

Just remember that the best instrument is the horn. Buy it early, use it often.
That looks like a lot of fun. I’d assume your “main character” is your bard, although I’d bet he’s not as customizable as in, say, Fallout 4.
There’s old old school Bard’s Tale 1, 2, 3, and The Bard’s Tale (2004). You might not like The Bard’s Tale, the main character is at best a bit of a conman.
