Not until I was eight years old did I realize I myself was not a book.
To do list: look up pronunciation of Michaelmas, swarthy, Hottentot.
My mother often mispronounced words. It was a sign that she was self-educated.
Not sure how you would mispronounce Hottentot… (also, how do you get through life without seeing Wizard of Oz, wherein we are informed that it is courage that puts the Hot in Hottentot)
