The darn thing seems to be having this issue where it sometimes runs the fan fairly loudly, then shuts down the computer, if I’m playing either Fallout 4 or Conan Exiles (I assume that overheating the graphics card is the problem). I think that it may be solvable by simply moving the computer tower: I’ve got the unit under the table, and I think that the waste heat is building up and causing the problem. Which would be spiff, because all the other alternatives are expensive.
But that’s been my day.
I started having that shutdown problem with my computer when playing Fallout 4, too, and I assume that something overheating is the problem, too, given how the side of the computer is warmer than normal when it happens. Headphones mean that I never heard the fan get louder, so I can’t comment on that.
.
I have my machine on my table as opposed to under it, so moving yours may not do much to help clear the problem up.
I have to say, the last time I had heat issues was when I was living in Susanville in the late 90s… the room with my new computer build was away from the stove (we heated the house with wood), so there wasn’t an issue during winter. Once the weather warmed up, the computer started acting weird, so I bought a chip fan and that fixed the issue.
It might just be that, but I would make sure that all the fans are actually turning.
