I’m still on the space station, which in classic beginning of video game fashion is a hot mess of people who apparently can’t do anything because of the thumbs up their rears. Probably a side effect of the cryosleep process. The leadership is all pissed at each other, nobody’s got a better plan than the Level 3 Chosen One who just breezed in, and there are a remarkable amount of boxes making it impossible for me to access a variety of doors just at this particular moment. So, again, pretty typical. I’m sure that it’ll all clean up nice in the end, though.
On the bright side, combat in Mass Effect: Andromeda is a heck of a lot better than it’s been. Less of the ‘Why, all of these desks would make perfect barricades for advance-and-attack if we should – God forbid! – need to fight our way out of this maximum security prison in order to get back to the ship’ configuration which has been a hallmark of Bioware combat. The jump jets are also extremely useful; they also don’t get in the dang way, which is even better. I like me a smooth tactical operation. It also runs a lot smoother than Dragon Age: Inquisition.
So, pretty good, so far.

PS: The animations are a little goofy at times, but that may just be because I was primed to notice them by all the gripe sessions.
I’ve heard that the EA studio who made this was the one that handled the multiplayer mode on ME:3 and put a focus on improving the combat. Seems they hit that mark. I’d think you’d notice the wonky animations even without the griping, but of course, if your fun comes from other avenues than you might not care. I’m curious how the story works for you over the long haul.
This is starting to sound much more promising.
All the griping was starting to get to me.
Glad to hear it is going well. I will probably have to wait until the weekend to pick it up. *Grumbles about work and being a responsible adult.*

Also, sorry about the playtest this weekend. I had something come up on Saturday, then had to go in to work on Sunday for a couple hours.
No worries. Real life happens.
