The Book of Henry is either going to be the happy-quirkiest movie of the summer, or the suddenly-screamingly darkest one. I can’t tell from the trailer. You can make a case either way.
It’s probably going to be happy-quirky. The posters are presented that way, the trailer is cut that way. And yet…
Hmm, no. That trailer went to a very dark place.
Where are the happy-quirky vibes? I just can’t see it.
The scoring keeps giving the wrong cues and the original poster is downright completely at odds with the trailer’s tone.
It’s not going to be happy, and since Sarah Silverman is a vile piece of garbage the film won’t be getting my money.
Happy-quirky? Even without what seems to be “11 year old sets up the murder of the town police commissioner,” “11 year old son acts as the adult in the household consisting of him, his younger brother, and his single mother” is tragedy enough.
Children of alcoholics tend to get stuck in the same trap.
