Hollywood actor hires another black dude to play him at Hollywood premiere…

…and guess what happened?

Hannibal Buress portrays Coach Wilson in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and he apparently wanted to skip the premiere so he hired an imposter instead. I’d like to say it was a look-alike, but that was definitely not the case here because the guy looked nothing like the comedian…

For the most part, it seems that nobody noticed, which is strange because [hired impersonator Joe] Carroll looks nothing at all like Hannibal Buress except for the fact that they are both black and have shaved heads.

I wouldn’t read too much into it; Hollywood premieres are, by all accounts, exercises in surreality where everybody is famous, nobody is familiar, and they all showed up with personal riding hobbyhorses.  You have people doing stunts and gags and performance art all the time.  People just shrug it all off, like a duck sheds water off its back.  But this particular stunt is apparently pissing off a bunch of studio heads, so I’m taking note of it all. I figure that anything that irritates that particular crowd is likely to resonate with my own readership.
