Short version: British firefighters save some pigs in a fire, the pigs grow up, they get slaughtered for their meat — which is why we keep pigs — and the farmer gives the firefighters some of the sausage. This seems perfectly reasonable. And yet, USA Today seems to be taking a weird tone from this: “USA TODAY has reached out to the Pewsey fire station for comment.”
:pause:
“They were delicious, thanks.” There. That’s all the comment necessary.

There’s a reason why everyday people hold the crooked media in absolute contempt. This right here is now exhibit number one of how much the MSM is out of touch with reality.
If I were the chief of the department, and I were feeling particularly snarky, I might reply along these lines:

“We’re actually quite happy about it, to be honest. It’s not every day you get to save your own bacon.”
Oh, that is good.

Logged in just to let you know that this made me laugh.
Where I come from, we tend to raise pigs for their delightful scent.
Before I read these comments, I just wanted sausage.
Now, I’m laughing and I want sausage. Or maybe scrapple.
Maybe both.
