Did you wince at the ‘antitheism?’ Come, I will conceal nothing from you: so did I. But it’s all right; John Wick was merely discussing how to handle a problem RPG player who likes to go around, in-game, trash-talking another player’s deity. The solution to that kind of jackwagonry is quite elegant: go ahead and read it. As for Forbeck’s Law:
“Whenever the panelists outnumber the audience,
the panel moves to the bar.”
This is… brilliant. More of a rule of thumb than a law, but still brilliant. I must remember it for future conventions.
Have to remember that for another campaign. Have had that player in the past, worthy revenge.
Speaking of Mr. Wick, since Moe is not a Twitch person, he might be unaware that Wick will be a participant in Open Legend’s (the open source RPG Kickstarted last year) Gm Improv event at Pax Unplugged in Philly. It’s Wick, another game wonk or two (a designer for Dungeon World and another for Open Legend) and some prominent GMs from Twitch and Youtube, all basically getting scenarios tossed at them. Downside? It’s not until November 19, so still a bit away.
Elegant.
Nasty, of course, but elegant and fitting.
.
While I tend to think Mr.
Wick relishes his “Evil GM” schtick a bit too much, most of the stories he shares from it are top notch and perfectly justified.
That’s quite well conceived. I thought he was going in an adjacent direction at first: “Those whom the gods would destroy, they first make proud.”
.
Then there’s always the Unwillingly Drafted Champion trope.
