I’m debating: go see the Foreigner?

The reviews for The Foreigner are decent, and it’s… well, there’s a problem with me for movies this week. To wit: I’m not really thrilled with Hollywood right now, for reasons which should be absolutely obvious*.  But I like movies.

So I don’t know.

  1. I’m intrigued by the movie – Jackie Chan is an action God – but the premise bothers me. An IRA bombing? It seems a bit…anachronistic.

If it were set in the 80’s it would make more sense, but it’s still not a conflict that everyone’s terribly familiar with anymore.

  2. That’s the problem with boycotts. Pretty soon you’re putting strings on sticks in your back yard for entertainment while munching on nothing but the zucchinis you fortunately couldnn’t foist on unsuspecting relatives. Even the Amish must deal with “the English”. I figure all we can do is encourage the people that suck slightly less.

        1. I think that it’s easier all around to just simply be really careful which artists you buy new. After all, a used DVD generates no royalties.
