Tweet of the Day, He’ll Be Back. And Retconning. edition.

Alternative title: here we go again.

With swear words to taste.  I tried to like Terminator 3; I really and truly did. And I hear that the show didn’t suck. But in the end, Terminator 2 simply said everything that the first movie didn’t have time for, and there was no reason to keep going.

And they’re all old now.

  1. There. Were. Only. Two. Terminator. Movies. Period.

    [Removes tongue from cheek.]

    1. In the Prime timeline there were two Terminator flicks, which did OK, and a half dozen each of the Flash Gordon and Highlander series’, each with a multi platinum Queen Soundtrack. Some dark parallels are really dark.

      1. Is this the same timeline where Firefly ran for seven seasons and Adam Baldwin was elected POTUS?*

*Seriously, Larry Coreia’s Tom Stranger: Inter-dimensional Insurance Agent is a real hoot.

  2. If they’re going to have Linda Hamilton and Ahnold, they should find a part for Ron Perlman. If we’re gonna do reunions, why not reunite as many people as possible?

  3. But…but WHY?

Ok, money, I get that, but still. How are they going to deal with the age thing (34 years) and…

Wait a minute, Ron Perlman? He was in Terminator?

    1. Ron Perlman starred with Linda Hamilton in a TV series named Beauty and the Beast for 3 seasons.

  4. The TV show was pretty good, although ended on a massive cliffhanger (of course). I agree Terminator 3 was pretty “meh”, never saw “Terminator Salvation”, but I actually enjoyed “Terminator Genesis” (or however it’s spelled)

    .

It should also be observed that when your franchise has as its basic premise time traveling to change the future, the “canon” is whatever the writers want it to be.
