‘All Planet Sounds From Space.’ …Really?

This popped up on my Facebook feed today.

I don’t quite buy it. The entire thing has a 1950s Atomic Horror vibe to it, particularly with regard to Mars, Saturn, and Yuggoth Pluto. Either that, or the people doing soundtracks to 1950s Atomic Horror flicks were better tuned into this stuff than I have hitherto given them credit for being.

Still, not a waste of your two minutes, thirty-six seconds.

PS: Pluto is a planet, dammit.

  1. A lot depends on how they produced these sounds. Since I have to speculate, I assume they picked the loudest radio frequency and demodulated it.

As such, I’m going to go with the idea that people doing atomic horror in the 1950s had a better idea than we typically give them credit for.
