I am not totally confident.
Then again, that might not be Men In Black: International‘s fault. We are, as they say, having a day here at Chez Lane. Guess we’ll see…

Nor should you be. Gender-swap is lazy comedy and rarely well done (the best recent example and exception to the rule was the Overboard remake-quel).
You’re not wrong, but I don’t get the impression that’s what this is. More of a continuation and expansion of the franchise than anything.

If the Ghostbusters had taken a similar track instead of a completely bent reboot it Might Not Have Sucked(as much).
Ghostbusters reboot was all but guaranteed DOA no matter what, imo. What made the original Ghostbusters a classic wasn’t the setting. It was that you had three great comics – Bill Murry, Dan Akroyd, and Harold Ramis – that all had great comedic chemistry. And, of course, you had a solid straight man in Ernie Hudson. Put the four of them together, and you potentially had a spectacular result.
What did the reboot have that could compare to that?
I’m of mixed opinion on this. A MIB sequel this late doesn’t hold a lot of interest for me, but the actors did a great job together in Thor: Ragnarok.
Unless I hear some good reviews I’m leaning towards waiting for whatever streaming service gets it after leaving the theaters.
