I cannot tell. I legitimately cannot tell if the new Addams Family is going to be a good movie, or not.
You see, I kind of want it to be bad. I watched and enjoyed the black and white television show, in syndication; and then I watched the two movies, and they were everything I could hope for, and I don’t want them to try again. And I’m being unfair, because the people who made this clearly went back to the original one-panel comics that inspired the show, and that’s a legit artistic move. Plus, the comics are good!
All of this means, then, that I don’t trust my instincts. And part of me doesn’t really care that I am not trusting my instincts, because the movies did the job, dammit, and that’s the end of it. So… make up your own minds, I guess?
You were wise to not see Addams Family Reunion, from what I understand.
I do not know what that is, and I do not want to know.
Tim Curry, though.
*shakes head in despair*
It seems to at least respect Charles Addams’ original artwork.
I think it has a chance to be quite enjoyable in animated form. Has a cartoon version been done before?
