There’s a part of me that suspects that Dora and the Lost City of Gold is really an elaborate prank. I can’t shake the thought that it can’t be real, right? I mean, Danny Trejo is voicing the monkey!
DANNY TREJO IS VOICING THE MONKEY. That is exactly the detail I’d include if my plan was to make everybody think that they were seeing a Dora movie, only to have them discover on opening night that it’s a head-fake and they’re going to see the Snyder Cut of Justice League instead. Which, you’d have to admit, would be an epic prank. One that would start class action suits.

PS: RELEASE THE DORA THE EXPLORER SNYDER CUT. …OK, I’m done now.
Danny Trejo was in Spy Kids, so Machette: For Kids!â„¢ absolutely has precedent.
Robert Rodriguez and Danny Trejo worked together a bit before Rodriguez’ “Spy Kids” project, yes?
.
I .. think this is real. Dora was ridiculously popular, even though it causes mental instability in adults .. there’s no way some loose cog in Hollywood wouldn’t try to do a live-action.
.
I have absolutely no idea how they pick a target audience and make it work, though.

This movie has all the hallmarks of a DisneyChannelâ„¢-genre movie, minus the Mouse.
.
I totally see that demographic: The slightly less-little kids who cut their teeth on the cartoon who are just discovering nostalgia as a concept and bodily functions as humor.
Danny Trejo also was in Muppets Most Wanted as himself in a Russian gulag.
“I .. think this is real.”
I saw the first trailer in theater, so it’s a pretty elaborate practical joke if it’s NOT real.
