Got two chapters done today, but am now facing the alpha reader* notes on Chapter 6. The ‘you need to sprinkle some of this exposition sh*t around the first few chapters’ notes. Which I am dreading, because that’s worrrrrk and I don’t wannnna.
But it’d be nice if the second draft was done before the new book gets started, so I’m going to have to buckle down for the next two weeks.

*I know folks volunteered, but: it’s my wife. She can write and she knows the best ways to be surgically brutal towards my deathless prose. Which is precisely what I needed.
This is acceptable. I expect you’re more likely to listen to her than us in any case.
Oh, I’ll take the feedback from the beta readers, too. But we’ve been married for over a decade; she knows how to tell me when I’m full of it without it leaving bruises. 🙂

Mr. Lane, blink twice if you believe you are in danger…

Okay, more seriously, it’s good to have an in-house alpha-reader; I’m happy for you, and waiting for you to take my money!

Are you going the traditional publishing route, or opting to self-publish?
I don’t have a damned clue.
I guess it depends on what you’re hoping to get out of it, and how think your skin is. I’m going to take a stab at traditional publishing when I finish my current work in progress.
