Medical issues, now resolved. Shan’t discuss further, not least because I am trying to be Christian about delays at the hospital. Everything is now fine, but I’ve been running for fifteen hours straight and am about a minute away from crashing.

The thing I most dislike about our medical system is .. how important it is – to the point it’s a significant predictor of recovery important – to have a consistent care-coordinator, one person who hears the diagnosis, hears the symptom list, and asks questions.
.
This is normally the spouse (so thank you, Mrs. Lane, for keeping Moe alive and writing) but can be a close friend or other family member.
.
Absent a care-coordinator, doctor A doesn’t know what nurse B did, and nobody’s talking about symptoms M, N, and Q .. with predictable (statistically likely, even) results.

p.s. The ex-brother-in-law died, in part, because he divorced my sister (who was also his care-coordinator) and refused to go to the doctor for a persistent stomachache .. that later turned out to be a fairly aggressive cancer. Messed his kids up good, that did.
