That has all the hallmarks of a Musk project: hubristic overpromise and no testing before rolling out. His hubris has already killed people, so I am not sure why he is still free.
Musk is a very good engineer. His true genius though is marketing to smug, ageing hipsters and their political counterparts for support: both financial and legal.
I’m still tryin’ to figure out how to get the thing to carry a “shed kit”. (8 sheets of plywood, couple dozen 2x4s, etc. etc.

It’s obvious where the truck bed *should be* .. but it doesn’t look 8 feet long .. and that’s before we get to how much weight it can shift. (see above … Toyota Tundra, no problem…)

On the other paw .. a smaller model, more in line with the Ford Ranger or Datsun B-2000 would be ideal ..

It really bugs me that the shape of the back is all wrong for a crew-served Vulcan rotary cannon. Just about every time I’ve seen something like this in a 1980s future dystopia flick, there’s some kind of heavy weapons platform on the back; I get that he can’t sell that with the option already installed, but it should been designed to be deliberately easy to retrofit. Who is he selling this to, anyway?
You say crew-served Vulcan rotary cannon, I say where can I put the 5th wheel to tow my trailer?

Same problem .. but in a less futuristic/dystopian format ..

In short .. ‘s not a “truck” .. ‘s a poorly designed station wagon.

Given what side this vehicle will be on during the Great A.I. Uprising, I do *not* want it to be easily retrofit into a weapons platform.

It looks remarkably familiar. I’m pretty sure I drew one of these as a Martian transport during the mid-80s. Except it was fluorescent orange, and had a small satellite dish.
You know something? Maybe so did Elon Musk.
Looks like someone has their Top. Men. working on the concept.

Yes, it’s clearly a Photoshop using a pic of terrorists, But the dimensions seem to work out.
Simone Giertz’s is better.
