Although, annoyingly, the ‘hardcopy’ version of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a digital download code in a plastic box. Admittedly, I saved five bucks that way and I didn’t have to wait for a download, but still. Highly annoying to realize I could have played it two days ago.
Still, it looks like a lot of fun. I just got out of the tutorial / run like the devil board, and am now going to… bring back the Jedi Order, apparently. Not that I can, of course. I mean, this is set just after the prequels. I know how this all ends.
Grrrr. I wish companies would realize that when I buy a physical copy, I want a physical copy. They did this with the PC version, right? They weren’t daft enough to include a code in a PS4 box, right?
Also, Gamestop? New means “never opened” not “we put the innards in a drawer.”
PC version. My kid is now ready to pay his own money to get the PS4 version.
Not to disagree, but what’s the practical difference between “install from DVD and then download a 4GB day-one patch” and “download the installer”?
EA can’t decide later to delete my game entirely leaving me with no recourse at all? I mean, I only bought the ‘physical’ game because it was five bucks cheaper that way, but still. I worry a lot more about having crap happen to the movies and books that I buy digitally.
