It’s annoying because I see Quibi and I think ‘gimmick’ (it explicitly gets and offers content in ten minute chunks). The problem is that 50 States of Fright is being produced by Sam Raimi, has a lot of good people acting in it, and it’s an anthology series of horror stories based on state-specific urban legends. …I can totally see Raimi punching that one, damn his eyes.
Particularly if the episodes are only ten minutes long. No filler, no wasted space; the cinematic equivalent of an ice pick. A horror director could have a lot of fun with that kind of scenario, and Raimi’s directing at least one of these.
Short-shorts are a growing art form, and you can tell a decent story in that time, especially in genres so stripped down as horror. It’s ready made for adaptation of Creepypastas.
Which one they choose for Idaho will be interesting.

The urban legends, so far as they exist, are pretty lame. Totally pedestrian.

There’s some real-life stuff with potential. Like experimental reactor one, the trapped miners in Sunshine, or desperate times on the frontier, but most of them would be best served by a slow burn.
Quibi looks like someone watched a couple episodes of “Dust” and said “hey, we can apply that to more than sci fi!” ..

While that’s true .. it’s also not exactly original ..
