Better to have a Gundam and not need it, than need one and not have it.

I love mechs.
In fiction.
In reality, they’re somewhere between ridiculously impractical and awesomely vulnerable, and I don’t really like having my nose rubbed in that fact.
Doc Travis pointed out, once upon a time, that Gundam make very good sense ..
.
Sure, in a 1-on-1 matchup, a Gundam will lose to a tank, a helicopter gunship, or a fighter jet … but while the enemy spends resources trying to balance their inventory of tanks, helos, and jets, the Gundam-centric force doesn’t worry about balance .. and attempts to meet enemy forces at least at two-to-one if not 3-to-1 ratios…
.
Easy to attain if any Gundam can switch from anti-tank ground force to anti-helo or anti-jet …
.
The enemy doesn’t have that luxury ….
