Looks… interesting.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is just on Steam on early Access at the moment, though. And I’ve heard some kvetching about it in reviews. Those legit, or is it another case of people liking to hear themselves complain about stuff*? It’s academic, because I don’t have the time to play the two games I have on preorder… but one likes to know these things.

*Not that I’ve ever done that. Nope. Not me, not now, not ever.
I’m wary. This writing doesn’t sound fun. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2020/10/baldurs-gate-3-early-access-mediocre-rpg-amazing-rendering-engine/
Since it’s early access, it’s going to be glitchy and limited and frustrating, so if you want the complete experience, I’d wait.
That said, I’ve seen a lot of reviews that think it’s great, so I’m not sure how much weight I’d give the Ars Technica one. See, for example, https://www.pcgamer.com/baldurs-gate-3-early-access-review/. I’ve downloaded it, but I haven’t had a chance to get into it yet. But I have played Larian’s previous Divinity: Original Sin games, which are excellent, and I’m interested in seeing how their environmental combat mixes with D&D rules. It’s possible it won’t quite work out, or it’s possible it will be brilliant. Only one way to find out.
I watched an early bit of gameplay a few months back.
It didn’t look bad…

It’s a new game using the title of a franchise that was made by a completely different group of people. Maybe it’ll be good. Maybe it won’t. But I’m not particularly pleased that they’re calling it Baldur’s Gate III.
Maybe they should have called it Baldur’s Gate: Answer the Call.
