Here’s the thing about Musk’s Wheel of Blue Sky, though: sometimes it lands on something he can actually make. Mostly rockets, sure, but he is also busily putting up an orbital telecommunications network, and the electric car thing is actually quite a bit further along than I thought it’d get. My wife’s raised an eyebrow over the android thing, and I don’t blame her – but while it’s smart to bet against the Tesla bot, it’s also smart to put down a reasonable amount of speculative money on it succeeding, too. You never know.
