Just finished a campaign of Wildermyth.

Wildermyth is a turn-based isometric computer RPG that uses the same engine as XCOM, I think. At least, the tactical map reminds me of that game. A lot of two-stage movement and actions, with cooldown activities and set enemies. Also, I’m told you can turn into a werewolf. I haven’t, yet.

It’s also very story-based, with randomly generated side quests that explore your characters from your team. It’s rather good, particularly if you like lore in your games. My wife got hooked on it, and I told her I’d play a game and get my own characters built up, so that we could give multiplayer a try. I don’t know how that’s gonna go, but the single-player game is fun.

  1. It looks like a grid-based combat system, but it’s not the XCOM engine. Although I really like the art style and concept. And multiplayer is appealing as well. I’ll have to get this and try it out, and maybe my wife and I can give it a whirl in MP later. Thanks for mentioning it.
