The GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE Honest Trailer.

It’s not that I disagree with the basic point of the GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE Honest Trailer.

I’m just not sure that it matters to me. Yes, the movie is nostalgia-bait. It absolutely does not break any new ground. But… I miss Harold Ramis. We all figured the cast would get off their collective high horses and come together for one more flick, for old time’s sake, right? But then Harold died, and I guess they wanted to say good-bye, and it was nice to see that. Maybe a little too nice for our modern, weary cynicism.

Sorry. You know me: always being a sentimentalist. I’m a sucker for flicks like this.

  1. I disagree with the basic point.

Sure, it was totally nostalgia bait.
But what it really was, was an apology. Not a genuine one, but a self-interested “please don’t hate this valuable intellectual property because of the atrocity of a couple years ago”.

Given that Sony proved they could make *this*, but chose to make *that*, I despise them.
But I don’t hate the franchise.
    So I guess they win?

  2. I liked it enough to buy a physical copy and plan on watching it again. Sure it’s nostalgia bait but aren’t all sequels to some degree?

I’ll never watch another minute of that atrocity though. Life is too short.
