I’m a published author, and I don’t even want it to work this way. I’m not licensing you hardcopies of my books. I’m selling you hardcopies of my books. Once you have it, it’s yours to resell, loan out, or turn into a damn paper-mache rabbit if you like. See, I already got paid.

Well, it worked for Bill Gates. The model expanded from there. Now we’re at a point where legislation has to be passed for people to work on their own tractors, because of government-sanctioned abuse of copyright law.
The abuse will continue to expand as long as the government continues allowing it.
