Anybody try REDFALL yet?

REDFALL’s coming out on consoles tomorrow, but it’s on Steam now. Is it any good? Coop vampire hunting sounds fun, but I have stuff I need to do this month. Is anybody already playing it, and can I hold off a bit to get it?

  1. The reviews aren’t good.
But most of the criticisms are lame.

It does sound like it wasn’t quite ready for launch, but the main criticism is that it doesn’t live up to the standard Arkane set with Prey, Dishonored, Arx Fatalis, etc. with a hefty side of sour grapes.

Most of the significant issues (like game progression only occurring if you’re the host of the multiplayer session, unresponsive AI, and the open world feeling lifeless) should be resolved within a couple of months.

The crying about being locked at thirty games a second and 8K looking the same as 1440p will never be addressed, because nobody cares.
Likewise the Zoomer complaints that piecing together an apocalypse log sometimes involves reading notes will never be addressed, because you’ve seriously *got* to be kidding me.

I’d advise waiting until after the first or second patch.
In the meantime, try Deep Rock Galactic.
