I don’t think the article writer is very familiar with Lovecraft.
Clicking over to the actual game’s site. I didn’t see Lovecraft even mentioned, nor did I see even an oblique reference in the trailer, nor do the themes line up.
It’s like the author saw “horror” and “Massachusetts”, and jumped to HPL.

I mean, how hard is it to call, say you’re writing an article, and ask basic questions?
Like “What were your inspirations?”
Looks like SWL with just guns and better graphics. Hopefully it has better support.
Can’t see how it can get much worse support.
