I had a blast knocking out all the quests in that game, but I was surprised how little I actually needed the stealth perks. Seems I was able to get by with just 1 point in stealth to get the vision bar.
Nope, not happening to me, as much as I wish it was.
Y tho?
Only the first unlock challenge was at all aggravating. (Spoiler: sneaking when wearing a spacesuit doesn’t work very well—until you raise your rank. A spacesuit is necessary for most in game locations. So…)
Oh, concealment. Not stealth.
Which I haven’t bothered getting.
Once I got chameleon armor (not to mention void form), I didn’t see the point.
And since concealment is a Master level skill, you likely have maxed stealth before you can even unlock it.
The “don’t’ set off mines” thing is fun, the bumped-up damage from stealth attacks suits my sniper build down to the ground, and having natural chameleon frees up a mod slot for all my gear (I’m still wearing my grandmother’s space suit, and I can’t quite feel bad about it).
More damage is always nice, but I’m already to the point where I can one shot most bosses with a sneak attack and headshot.
Today, I discovered Legendary Ships.
I had stopped upgrading my ship combat skills, because I’d gotten to the point where I’d fairly consistently obliterate ships I was trying to steal, and that problem was clearly only going to get worse. My snub fighter is pretty darned legendary (and not only for having less cargo capacity than my character) so I went in guns blazing.
It… did not go well.
Now I’m sporting a whalebone prosthetic, and I’ve found a new reason to keep playing.
(Well, besides the suicidal impulse to see what a Kraken with Gut Busters does to a Terrormorph.)
