I did not beware the Ides of March.

I honestly never do. It’s kind of surprising, really: I mean, I was an English major. I practically minored in Shakespeare. And yet, it’s just a day that has come, if not yet gone…

  1. Unless you are a Roman dictator with imperial aspirations, and your young protoge is led to believe that killing you is good for the country, and him, a long with a bunch of other fellows hatch a plan to violently murder you, I don’t think you have much to fear from the Ides of March.

The warning Caesar was given was individually tailored, I think. Now, if the warning was “Look both ways when you cross the street on the Ides of March”, then it might have a more universal appeal.
