The ‘You had me at Darth Jar-Jar’ Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy teaser trailer.

Sorry, but I’m a sucker for an alternate timeline. Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy looks like it might be funny. Besides, everybody knows Jar-Jar was supposed to be the hidden Sith Lord all along*…

*I truly believe that they changed that because they thought people would like Jar-Jar Binks. Don’t ask me why, but they did. So when Jar-Jar going Dark Side wouldn’t have had the impact they wanted anyway…

  1. Count Dookoo never made sense.. just a marginally less Palpatine would-be..

Jar Jar was not the first point where George’s Abominations went wrong… but it broke the trajectory.

    Mew

p.s. am I the only one who remembers George claiming he had episodes 1 through 9 plotted out?

    1. You’re not alone.
But I’m pretty sure he could have fit most of the outline on an index card.

  2. You’re giving too much credit. George Lucas’s wasn’t C. L. Moore. Depth wasn’t his thing.

You’re talking about a guy who announced an award for the best fan made Star Wars content, and out of all the amazing stuff submitted, chose a toy commercial.
    Because of course he did.

Jar Jar was just as superficial as the rest of The Phantom Menace.
There’s no ret-conning that piece of trash.

  3. Can we just give StarWars to LEGO Studios permanently? The seem to be the only ones who remember what actual stories look like.

  4. There’s an Ewok bounty hunter in SWTOR, that is as scary as it is adorable. Not sure if Disney has accepted Bioware’s game as canon, but this meatbag approves.
I hope this is as entertaining as the last Lego Star Wars I saw, which I think was released over the winter holidays. That was a lot of fun.

If I had more time and monies I would still be playing SWTOR. Alas, a casualty of the post-COVID wars it was.

  5. Star Wars lost me the moment C-3P0 yelled “This is such a drag!” while he was being dragged. With that one stupid, inane, on-the-nose, anachronistic, juvenile pander, I lost interest in the series.

The point is, anybody can do whatever they want to Star Wars, and I’m fine with it.
