I like the GeekTyrant site a lot, not least because they’re even more easygoing on popcorn movies than I am. So when they say this about the news that Chris Hemsworth is in talks to be in the Transformers/GI JOE live-action crossover:
All I can say to Hemsworth is, don’t do it! Run as far away from this project as possible because it’s going to end up being another crap G.I. Joe and Transformers movie! He should go make another Extraction movie instead!
…you should take that warning seriously, Mr. Hemsworth*. I don’t know how many people are really anticipating this crossover. I suspect that more than a few are dreading it.

PS: These movies should be animated, by the way. They just look stupid in live-action. Worse, it’s the bad kind of stupid. The inglorious kind.
*Yes, ‘Mr.’ I’ve never actually met the man, remember?
I doubt they will do any more major animated releases in theaters because it doesn’t inflate the ego of live action actors as much. The Mario movie got through because it was more CGI than animated.
Miyazaki releases/remasters in the cinema are an exception because they can pretend it’s a foreign film more than animated.
Alternate take: with LLMs getting pretty good in the voice department, live acting is the only way for them to make sure they get paid.
(See, e.g., OpenAI’s idiotic bid to make Scarlett Johannson their majority stakeholder by means of being owned thoroughly and from orbit by lawsuit.)
