Not the ‘Edge of Tomorrow‘ anime trailer, mind you. This looks more like the original ALL YOU NEED IS KILL novel (which is good, mind you). I’ve never seen the Tom Cruise flick, but I might catch this one.

The Tom Cruise flick was alright, actually.
Never read the book so I can’t comment on that part, but I did see the Tom Cruise movie. It was pretty good, what surprised me was watching him actually play a different character. Most of his movies, he is “Tom Cruise” and the characters are interchangeable, but this one he plays a coward for about half the movie before he becomes his standard hero facade. Actual character growth on screen is kinda rare for modern Hollywood.
So you two think I should see it, then? Cool.
I have avoided almost all the movies Tom Cruise has made in the last 30 years. Nevertheless, I did watch Edge of Tomorrow … with enjoyment. What a pleasant surprise: a good Tom Cruise movie.
The shorthand review I used for the book (and later the movie)
Military Sci-Fi Groundhog Day.
