Well, you could start with the Earpa being the “good guys” as historically rather dubious.
But the movie was brilliant.
It might be legitimate to describe them as the lighter shade of grey.
Boomtowns are corrupt and exploitive by nature. (Shrug) But the Clanton clan was certainly no better.
It says something that the person who actively tried to keep the peace was flagrantly corrupt, a blatant liar, and was most interested in keeping his 10% cut from all sides rolling in.
I didn’t think the movie portrayed the Earps as “good guys”. I took Wyatt as a jaded former lawman who was looking to his own self-interest, and then pulled back into law enforcement because the criminals were hurting his business. Of course, the movie was kinder to the Earps than it was to the Clantons and the Mclaurys. A
