But then I looked him up. Dude was born in 1979, which means that he’s old enough to actually remember Walkmans — although, admittedly, more towards the end of their technological presence than at the beginning of it. Which means that he’s old enough to actually mock the current generation, instead of fake-mock it.

To be fair, the Walkman brand survived into the CD era as well. There are those of who came of age in the 90s who still got to play with both. But then, that’s also the kind of house my parents kept: They never got rid of the Vinyl setup to begin with.
