I think primarily because of the map. The projection used on War Room more or less maps well to the relative importance of the various theaters of war; it never really struck me before just how much of the major fighting took place in the Northern Hemisphere. I’m a little leery of how all those pieces will go flying during play, but that’s true for most physical games, really.
I shudder to think how much War Room will cost, of course. They’re taking it to Kickstarter, according to the link in the Tweet above, which means that it’s going to be expensive. This is not going to be a casual purchase.
