I really, really wanted ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL to make enough money for a sequel. It kind of made its money back, depending on how much foreign sales actually makes it back to Fox Disney, but I’m not holding my breath. But Honest Trailers liked it, too:
That’s the weird thing. Everybody seemed to like it; considerably fewer people in the USA went to go see it. I’m not sure where the disconnect is, there.
In the USA at least, those of us who cared saw Ghost in the Shell last year.

It had the misfortune to be released more or less concurrently with Captain Marvel. Frankly, I’m surprised it did as well as it actually did.
